question of life

As some of you know I will be starting my senior year soon and I'm suppose to think about what I want to be I guess. So I was wondering if anyone had a job or know of a job that is semi-interesting and gets paid decent money, or is damn right amazing. I know you guys might say I need to find out on my own and blah blah blah, but I need something to start on so why not ask you guys   . Any help/ideas would be appreciated.

believe it or not I do not recomend the computer fields  they pay well but are hard to come by right now.  But I would suggest looking into something that you enjoy.  I loving camping so at one point I thought I might become a park ranger, lol.

im a producer for tv...no money there but fun as hell dude...dont worry about your final choise of carreer. Just finish highschool strong and get into a good college...Im sure this year you'll start figuring out what you want to do...(playing games dont count )...a high percentage of students change majors because they choose too fast their carreer...Go with what you feel is good and of course thinking of decent paychecks...I might sound like your teacher, but go with what you like or would love doing...that is unless youre making 100 grand a year, then chill there lol...

Yea, you need to expose yourself with different curriculums in college so you can make a good decision on which direction to choose.  Over here, there is always a demand in Accounting, Engineering and Nursing.

EDIT: I don't know if you're attending college, heading for college, or looking to head to work out of high school. My advice is focused mostly on you heading for college, but my comments about community college are good even if you don't plan on any college. College is necessary for some careers, but not all. It all depends on what you really want to do. END EDIT

Don't think about how much you're going to make, or how you'll get hired. Try to focus on what interests you. As was said, you'll need to try some things in college and see what sticks.

As for me...
I'm finishing my computer science undergrad, and I've thoroughly enjoyed it. I have come across some other interesting areas that I wish I had more time to check into though:
- any science (physics, chemistry, biology, etc.). I really liked the astronomy course I took and if I could do it all over again I'd probably do more physics.
- Art. I am not an artist at all, but I feel I've missed something as I've NEVER taken an art course, but I think I could have benefitted from it.
- Math is key. Even if you don't want to major in it, keep up your trig, calc, and pursue the core math classes if you can. It is invaluable if you pursue anything in science or computer science.
- The liberal arts are interesting too, but I'm more bored in those aspects. I DID like taking Western Civ I&II though, as well as Asian Philosophy. I wish I got to learn Japanese, never made it into my schedule though.

Whatever you do, try to get the more difficult requirements like math and science out of the way in your freshman year. It will help you with your electives for your major come junior/senior year if you're not splitting your time between your major's 400-level courses and the homework heavy math/science courses that you could have done sooner.

As for choice in college, do whatever gives you good options, and makes you excited about attending. I don't know what tier you're looking at, but don't think you need to go to a highly-ranked school right off the bat. I started at RPI (top tech school), hated it, tried a community college, and fell in love with public education. I transferred to Central Connecticut State University and I have no shortage of job offers. If I could do it all over again I would have attended the community college for 2 years before transferring, and saved both time and money in the end. Also, try not to work more than a few hrs a week at any college. Working between 20-40 hrs a week killed my chances of graduating in 4 yrs. I'm going onto my 6th yr this fall.

dont forget that if you still dont know what you want to do come chosing where to go and what to do in college, you can always join the forces..... they pay you base pay and pay for everything else. The NAVY has treated me very well so far, and i cant complain. But what everyone else said is right, do what you like.

The problem is I don't know what i like   , I was thinking of becoming a pharmacist like my dad and one of my brothers since it has been around me my whole life and it has some of my interest but other then that....

I think the main problem is i dont know what job would fit for what i like, which reading, gaming, and movies are my main likes. So if any of you know of any jobs that fit into this categories post them so I can look into them and I will show you love.

fallen ...one big note, it doesnt matter where you start college, it just matters where you finish..

dont feel funny abot not knowing what to do, its something that you will find, and may even change.  a jr college is a good place to start, just make sure the credits will always transfer FIRST. its cheaper and not so much..and yuo have a summer that i would suggest taken the moment to find work in your field.

i just wanna know how to do it
