PHP Boards Question

Ok guys, i ran a set of php forums before, managed it all for the guild i was first in , in WOW....today my friend was told that all the moderators of the boards can read the other moderators PM's is this true....in the time i ran the forums i was on i never once saw that ability.. is this truth or total bullshit, really could use an answer, to sort out some drama going on.

Not that I am aware of.  But then again, we havent used php here in a long time so the more recent versions may have those features.

As I recall, no one but the sender and reciever can read a PM. The only way anyone else could ever read someone elses PM's would be through direct access to the database.

hmm ok...one of the forum guys said that the moderators all had access to each of th other moderators pm's...which i thoguht was total bullshit, because when i was in charge of the boards for our wow guild and swg guild no such thing existed.

what type board is it? Let me know the board make and version number and I might be able to throw one up and test it out.

that would be phpBB version 2.0 I will try to set one up and test it. I will try to find you in vent or IM, I'm curious as to the concern behind this.

actually if the admin of the site was messing around can changed one of the global variable checks in the php site itself it could possibly override the forums settings.  How ever most likely someone is crusing through the database because they did use a good rare password.

im 100% sure this guy doesnt know how to do any of that....just catching aguy in a lie, drama got kicked up becuase of something that was sent in a pm and he told everyone about it....then all the officers msged this one individual and bombarded her w/ questions....and he said that all the moderators can check each others pm's and i knew it was total bs.

yup their are and if that is true have them copy a specific pm from another moderators pm's.

yea if cookie didn't speak up I was about to throw out my guess that they probly read the DB and not some feature in the forum.
