Question on DB

Ok, a freind of my boss has a problem with SQL script and VB.  

They dl'd a MSI from microsoft, and it installed some scripts and demo database type things.  the script has a .sql extension.  She needs it to be .mdf by converting or something like that, does this make sense to any of our programing ppl here?
