Yea there is going to be lots of driver issues for awhile.  It you read the microsoft forums, lots of noise with both hardware and software.  There isn't even a SLI driver for  the 8800 series taking advantage of the directx10.  I'm gonna wait before I build my new monster. :)

Quotejust cant figure out how to turn off microsoft defender.   <_<
Open control panel- click classic view.
Open defender - it's at the bottom, next to Firewall and other stuff like Sidebar.
Click Tools - then Options - and untick everything you see, such as:
Untick automatically scan my PC
scroll down, untick use real time protection
untick advanced options, click save
If user access control is on, you may get a warning. Click continue.

Ugh, I'm waiting a long time before I get Vista. If you play games, need drivers, or like performance, it will blow to use it. It looks purdy though, so I look forward to when it just works.

I just got a free copy of Office 2007 Professional ($499 version). I'm happy with OpenOffice.org but I guess I'll give it a shot.

Which version of Vista do you have/are you getting?
