It depends on your part of the country. Here in CT they go for $900-1200 easily. So, I went online to PuppyFind.com and we found Alex for $250+ $175 shipping = $425. It's surprising he was the cheapest puppy we could find, but he is in spectacular form and the price is a secondary perk.

Typically they go for $400-$500 + $200-$225 shipping, for pups posted online from the midwest region. If you look online you also need to be weary of puppy mills that aren't any better than pet stores. Also, my breeder wasn't much for conversation, but I still went with him.

I also wasn't the happiest about his sable fur color, that was Diane's choice. Interestingly, it changed over time to a deep red that I really love.  The asymetrical spot on his nose also didn't look that hot but now it's a really cute feature. I really think these dogs get more beautiful as they mature. Also he's settled in well with 2 cats.

Corgis are known for being very intelligent (house breaking has been successful, training is easy), very playful, and very friendly. They can also be bossy of their owners if you let them (always put your foot down and it's not a problem), and they can get bored easily which means a lot of your home chewed up; until we puppy-proof our apt he stays in a crate while we're not watching him. They also enjoy active lifestyles so either daily walks or at least a fenced in yard are ideal. We use the leash on walks but we let him roam the front yard of our 6-apt corner lot with supervision.
