Title: Amatuer(ham) Radio
Post by: Balaso on July 18, 2005, 06:31:03 PM
I've been pursuing a childhood interest of amatuer or ham radio recently. I have send for some study guides so I can get my Technician license. I have been reading about a million radio reviews to find a good starter radio and found a ICom ic-2100H. I plan on using it to become a local weather spotter and a Military Affiliate Radio Systems(MARS) Operator. I was hoping to see if anyone here knows more about the subject.

growing up I knew a couple Ham guys, but I never got into it since unless a close friend or your parents are into Ham, then it is cost prohibitive for most to play with.  Good luck finding info on it, you can do some cool stuff if you learn the right things.
