your input on links or sites ect on webhosting capabilities, POST em here. From picture hosting to actual web space...whos got what where, upsides and downsides.

i know a few of our members sell such things, POST THEM please..if you want them general shadow-knight knowledge!

and also, how difficult is it to upload a dvd format (30 minute feature) to a site and
have it play on high percentage of computers?

That's not too difficult in and of itself, however, hosting a movie like that could eat up a heck of alot of bandwidth. It could cause a bit of a strain on the servers to server it up to a large number of computers. I'll get and email off to you with a few questions.

yes i felt that there are a ffew questions to iron out to see if this iscost effectively feasabile and can be done....and no its not porn,if you were wondering.

alas balaso, i didnt realize i had distributed all my copies. i dont have my next meeting till thurs. i will have to make multible copies again so i will forward the information after.

737 mb is the size on disk...thats audio file and video file.

If you want to host such a file, consider using BitTorrent. Your website could run the tracker and host the .torrent file, and you could use your home computer as a constant seed. It's p2p at its best. Depending on what kind of site you want to run, you could offer to include other files on your tracker to generate more traffic and interest. It's piece 'o cake to setup and it won't suck your web hosting bandwidth.

yea i was doing quite a bit through bit torrent but recently the "they" took several of the bit torrent sites to court. ...  and this is for a professional sound studio..
